Fashion Week: A Guide for Models

It takes a lot of effort to look beautiful, and us models know how difficult it really is. Walking down the runway can be a little nervy — especially for the newer models. One of the most important things that models need to know is to always stay hydrated and to maintain a sense of calm and focus.

So, here are a few tips on doing just that:

  1. Drink lots of water and eat lots of healthy snacks throughout (such as apples, bananas, almonds, sashimi, carrots, hummus and crackers). Reward yourself with a real meal at the end of the day.
  2. To keep you going like the Energizer Bunny I strongly recommend a tea. Yes ladies, not coffee but a tea. I have found an amazing tea at DAVIDsTEA that will give you tons of energy without the caffeine burnout and it will not leave you dehydrated. It’s called “Chocolate Rocket.” This tea is rich in antioxidants — it has cocoa nibs, raspberries, almonds and Brazilian maté. This tea will make you the ultimate rock star as you strut your stuff on the runway.
  3. One of the things I find that can come with the pressure in the modelling world is getting enough sleep the night before to look amazing in the morning. Instead of pouring myself a glass of wine I decided to try another yet amazing tea from DAVIDsTEA called “Mother’s Little Helper.” This tea will help you relax like nothing else; it has valerian root, which is considered to be the “nature’s Valium” and it also has chamomile, peppermint and corn flower which are all known to keep you relaxed and happy just before you go to sleep.
